Bulkhead sealant

Hi, I have a Vision 42 and need to change a Nav light. I am wanting to know if there is an easy way to remove the sealant around the wires in the anchor locker ? Any help is appreciated.

What sealant is it? Ours was some flexible white adhesive sealant, which meant the only way to remove it is with a knife. Careful you don't injure the cable.

Not sure why you need to disturb the wires inside the boat just to replace the nav light. The connections for the light are inside the light itself.
