Just for information, bearing maintenance when lifting out.

Put half a cup of oil in the rudder housing before you lift out by unscrewing the top jubilee clip around the housing and jamming a small funnel down in between housing and stock.

When you lift out the water leaks out of bearing housing then the oil, so, move the rudder back and forward continually when the oil flows.

Hope this helps, or you can put new bearings in !!

I use standard engine oil, but most oils would be suitable. The oil only runs out when the boat is lifted out of the water. Makes a bit of a mess if you don't put a bucket under it.
