Has anyone modified the cockpit locker lids with gas springs to ease lifting?
Pictures would be helpful.

Hi landers_h, it's been a long time, but did you install the struts? I'm looking at doing the same.

More recent boats have gas struts as standard, here's a pic of my 2014 boat.  The struts need to be very firmly attached.

We have bungees and hooks inside our locker lids that hook over the rails to hold them open.
Simple and cheap.
