Saloon table modification to serve as bed on B38 2003

I purchased 2 tri-telescopic aluminum table leg from Osculati, shipped to Greece. The handles on these legs are useless so you need to find a machine shop to replace them. Legs cost less than 300 euro plus some wood for support and the handles. Now the table serves as a very comfortable bed or a large sofa during the day.

Thanks for excellent report!

I have been planning the same modification for our 3-cabin B40 (2001). My plan is to (as of now) to use a pair of Osculati Heavy Duty legs, as I want the table to be plenty of strong enough to slam onto in choppy weather. In Baltic Sea the waves may not be that high, but due to shallow sea the waves are often quite steep and I like the "cramped" interior design where we always have something to lean onto.

Old topic, but I plan to do the same project for my B40 2001...

Anyone complete such project for B40 2001?

In my case old (current) table legs are fixed to plastic pedestals, which are above floor level and seems to be part of the hull.
Any ideas how to mount new circle pedestals for telescopic legs?

I am glad that you refloated this post because it is in my to-do list.
May be Bigspirit can explain why the handles are useless and also if the legs can be attached directly to the floor or if it's mandatory the piece of wood
