Bent Toerail and Stanchion

A transient boater left an unpleasant souvenir on our Bavaria hitting and bending a stanchion.
I will replace the stanchion itself, add a counterplate underneath deck for the stanchion base screws.

What worries me is that the toerail is also affected (see picture attached)
- the inward facing ,,nose" at the top has been bent. This leaves a gap between the stanchion base and the toerail which - my guess - reduces the stability of the setup.
- the lower area flush with the deck has been slightly lifted between the screws that attach the toerail. My guess with potential for water leaking into the hull deck joint.
I saw that SVB sells lengths of toerail but this is a rather costly affair for the rail itself and also shipping 5m long aluminum extrusions across Europe leaves quite a risk of not getting them intact.

Any ideas if and how the toerail can be fixed without replacing it?

Really nobody on the forum having had a similar issue after a bent stanchion?
Or am I taking this deformation of the toerail too seriously??

Replacing a 5m section of toerail for that seems excessive. Maybe it can be bent back into shape with some clamping and/or a good few thwacks with a hammer (and a piece of wood to protect the anodizing)? Did you take the stanchion foot out yet? The gelcoat definitely needs repairing under there, it's probably leaking now.

It's not recommended to add larger backing plates to stanchions, as that just means a larger hole in the deck when they get ripped out.

Looks like something the other guy's insurance would have to deal with. But I reckon you don't know who caused the damage?
