Stiff throttle - Bav 36

Our throttle is becoming stiffer to move - particularly from neutral to ahead -  as time goes on. The control is a Lewmar (same as Morse Control - 2006 Bav 30 thread). I have lubricated and checked the friction screw is unwound with no difference. All cables look routed fine so next job is probably to disconnect the drive/pump ends and see if its the mechanism - if so has anyone taken this apart ?
