Hi, I have leaky portlights.  I have the official lewmar seals for the windows, but find it near impossible to get them to stay in.  One corner is always wanting to come out.

What tricks do you use to replace your lewmar window seals?

Thanks,
Matthew

I've done this. It's important to clean all the old sealant for the groove. It's not easy and needs patience!
Also make sure you've drilled a holes in the new seal to let the air out- that's not included in Lewmar's instructions but is important.

Thanks for the heads up.  Where do you drill said hole(s)?

I did spend a LOT of time cleaning out the old sealant.  What a pain.

The funny / sad thing is, the DRY run went great, without the sealant. When I went back to put the sealant on, THEN I couldn't get the darn thing to stay in.

Anyway, look forward to your reply on the holes.  Thanks!  -- Matthew

The hole (2) go at the bottom of the port in the centre. They let the air out of the seal.
