Folks,

Does anybody by any chance knows stand rigging wires length for Bavaria 40 2001?

I'm going to replace all stand rigging, but the price offered by rigging company in Greece is a bit above my expectation.
I would like to check on SVB24 (the produce stand rigging by measure), but I need to know the length of the wires.

Does anybody has experience with stand rigging from SVB?

P.S: Rigging company in Greece wants 2000 EUR (+24%VAT) only for labor cost, which I found way too much... So I decided to change rigging myself, with help of crane we have in marina.

The stuff from SVB24 is fine. There are no standard lengths for rigging wire, even production boats aren't identical to the mm and not always the same fittings are used, so you'll have to measure your existing wires. Often also a few mm adjustment are needed when renewing, as turnbuckles may be nearly maxed out due to minor hull deformations.

You can order them with half a meter extra and then cut to the precise length on site if you use swageless (manual assembly) fittings on one end. Or both :)

Thanks, Yngmar

I do not trust swageless fittings, I think swaged/rolled would be more reliable (Am I wrong?)

So, the plan is to unstep the mast, measure all the wires and order on SVB (or on local company, if they will offer better price).

I'm in doubt about turnbuckles. They are original, but in very good condition, thread is working. Should I still consider replacement?
