mainsail replacement

I'm about to replace my mainsail as its probably the original from 2006 
i know roughly the cost     

my question is has anyone replaced the sliders with the MDS type from the original plastic type, and are there any modifications to the mast to do this.
I'm looking at fully battened with 3 reef points if the new slugs will match the mast.

its on a bav 33 from 2006 , Selden mast and boom,
