On our 2004 B32 we have the original CQR type anchor which has seen better days.

Having read numerous reviews we have decided that a Lewmar Delta (16kg) would be suitable.
Does anyone know if this will fit on the existing bow roller and does the anchor locker lid need any modification?
Thanks

I would template your current CQR anchor stank/ shaft with carton and look for a delta anchor with equal weight and matching shape. In that way the least modification you will need to do and nothing to disturbing as a non fitting anchor...
You may have an issue with the different angle the flukes of the anchor are in, comparing CQR and Delta.. Delta angle is bigger than CQR.. in the end, prof of the pudding is fitting it with the possibility to return the anchor..

I think you will find that a 10kg is more than adequate. The original was 25lb CQR type. Suspect that a 16kg Delta will be too big physically. If you look at Lewmar sizing chart you will find your boat is right in the middle of the 10kg recommended range.lewmar.com/delta-galvanised-anchor

Happy Sailor, That is a good idea regarding the use of a template. I will do that when next on board. Thanks for the suggestion.

Symphony 2, I had wondered about the correct weight for our boat size, subject to physical limitations. I will study the Lewmar sizing chart as you suggest. Many thanks.

Agreed.  I have a Rocna 15 on a Bav30 and its overkill.  Also check what will fit in the anchor locker with the lid fully closed - handy for picking up a buoy with the anchor stowed away.  Rocna15 almost but not quite fits the locker, but I'm sure a 10 would.

Taking on board the advice given on this forum and elsewhere, we have decided to go for a 10kg Lewmar Delta.
For those that may be considering going down this path, we can report that the anchor fits on the bow roller and doesn't obstruct the lid on the anchor locker.
We did notice that the shank is a tad taller and this results in the anchor sitting slightly more forward than our old CQR. This is due to the bow roller locking pin. Otherwise no issues.
Many thanks for your input.
