Here is my boats power-electric system schematic (individual small loads connect to house bank main distribution bus bars). I drew it up in Miro, cant export a higher resolution with the free account. Is going to change a wee bit, but functions so far (I see the windlass is not wired up here, but I have it connected to the main LiFePO4 bank. I have three large lithiums in parallel and they can give out a stable ~400 A, which is way sufficient for windlass action which I have fused at around 250 A).

Bavaria Yacht Help! / Re: Replacement anchor
Last post by Fenders - April 05 2026, 11:03
Taking on board the advice given on this forum and elsewhere, we have decided to go for a 10kg Lewmar Delta.
For those that may be considering going down this path, we can report that the anchor fits on the bow roller and doesn't obstruct the lid on the anchor locker.
We did notice that the shank is a tad taller and this results in the anchor sitting slightly more forward than our old CQR. This is due to the bow roller locking pin. Otherwise no issues.
Many thanks for your input.

i fitted a fire blitz clean agent one, they go off at around 80 deg, and wont kill everything with corrosive powder if accidently fired off.

Thanks Symphony2. Yep, I am onboard for long periods; 8 - 10 days w/o shorepower. Do not have solar and do not want modules on my boat; limits fun of sailing. Gonna charge them w. engine, 105A (as I recall) alternator and 45A Quick battery charger, original setup on my boat.

Agreed. An extractor fan is however a pretty good idea in hot climates. Makes the stuff in the engine compartment last longer and the entire boat less hot for less long after stopping (the hot engine block stores a lot of heat).

We fitted a large manual CO2 extinguisher in the galley and a fire (extinguishing) port to the engine room.

And a big blower removing hot air to the outside.

Not sure why you need an automatic fire extinguisher just because the ambient temperature (or engine room temperature) is high. It is there to deal with fire which is more likely to be an electrical issue. As suggested the activation temperature is far higher than the temperature during normal use.

Hey there, I have something like the below for Mirage in the UK. Being clean agent, and not powder, is much better as if it goes off accidentally, it will shut down the engine, but it won't kill it. Dry powder will be sucked into the intake and will damage the engine.

Activation temperature is around 68 degrees C - I would put a heat sensor in your engine bay and see what it reaches. I doubt it will get that high?
