My boat is equipped with an aluminum 2 blades propeller - since it was a charter boat I can only assume it came this way from the factory.
I am thinking of replacing it and was asked by a potential vendor for the current part number of the prop that I have, but could not find it (I dived to look for it but probably the stamped number is covered by anti fouling).
Can anybody help on this - either a PN or the specs of the prop.
Depends on which engine you have. If it is a 2030 then almost certainly it will be a 16*13. You have to take the prop off to check the size as it is stamped on the face.
Thanks. Yes it is a 2030.
don't really want to scuba dive and take it off - hoped that there would be a firm way to tell.
And the MD2020 gets by on a two blade aluminium prop size 16 x 11.
You could measure it. 2-bladed saildrive props are on page 33: http://www.volvopenta.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/Penta/Propeller%20guide/Propeller%20Guide.pdf
Thanks for the info. Diameter is easy. I will see if I can measure the pitch underwater accurately enough to distinguish which size it is..
. When I bought my Bav39 it had a fixed 3 blade Ali prop which I had to remove after the anode fell off through it. There were no markings anywhere on it to tell me the size. So would suggest try measuring in situ rather than the hassle of removing prop only to find no markings !! Prop suppliers should be able to give a recommendation based on boat, engine and saildrive.

There are only two pitches for a 16" prop. The 2030 in my old 37 was a 13" pitch. An 11" would be too fine and allow the engine to rev too high.
