Title: Removing worktop on a Cruiser 33
Post by: ANTREVELL on December 03 2015, 20:06
I have got to replace my refrigerator housing . I understand the worktop is glued to the cabinet top. Has anybody got any helpful suggestions for removing the glued  worktop .

Regards Tony

As the boat's under 2 years old, surely there's an argument for pursuing Clipper to fix the problem?

Yes they have agreed to do it, but I felt if I possibly could I would try to do myself as it will speed the process along and I quite enjoy a challenge. I was hoping some one could suggest a solvent that would dissolve the existing glue or a very thin saw so I cut through the glue.

As they've agreed to do it, you should let them.  The chance of damaging the worktop in the process of removing it is high, I'd have thought.

Out of curiosity, what is the problem that makes it necessary to replace the refrigerator housing?

The frige housing is degrading the plastic is going into little holes. Apparently only the second one in 8000 to do this . Just my luck !
