Title: size of through hull fittings and seacocks on a Bavaria Ocean 40
Post by: suzie on April 24 2016, 15:30
I would like information on the size of the through hull fittings and sea cocks on my Bavaria 40 Ocean. because of the age and their location its hard to read the side of the fitting. It looks like 3/4 inch  DN 20 on the sea cock but using the calipers on the outside of the through hull fitting thread read 1 inch?

I have a lot of pitting on the elbow that screws into the seacock and want to replace it but because of its age I may have to replace the lot

Any information or source of information would be appreciated

The small seacock and skin fittings are 3/4 inch the large toilet outlet is 1 1/2 inch. the cockpit drains are 2inch

Measuring the thread with give about ¼" more than the BSP (internal) size, so ¾" BSP will indeed measure about 1"

Personally, I'm considering increasing the galley sink drains as they are very slow.

Yes the sink drains may be very slow, but give them a pump with a drain bellows and they clear immediately
