Title: Bavaria 820 with 30 hp engine - help with papers
Post by: Vikingo Olaf on April 29 2016, 09:10
Hello all,

I have a problem:
I got fitted in my Bavaria 820 (year 1985) a new Yanmar 30 hp diesel engine. Now when registering the new engine in the SPANISH PORT AUTHORITIES the (stupid >:() mechanic told me that he realized that the papers I have allow maximum 20kw which is something like 28 hp.
Does any one have a Bavaria 820 in the EU with a 30 HP (or more) engine fitted and according papers.
It would help me to get my engine registered without having to pay 2.000 EUR for an engineer.

Thanks in advance for any help

The Yanmar is rated at 21kw. why is your boat limited to 20kw? although it does not really need that amount of power - a 20hp engine would be more than enough. Can't help with registration as in the UK there is no such requirement to register.
