Hello, The chain on my steering wheel came off and there are two cogwheels, one large and one smaller. Does anyone know which one I should attach it to?
Fixad it ( it took hours), and it's the smaller wheel :)
Likely the second cog is for an autopilot drive.
If this is the same set-up as my 2009 Bav 38, the comments above are correct.
I would strongly recommend that when putting the chain back on, the tension is checked and the location of the bottle screws is checked to ensure you can turn the wheel full lock.
The bottle screws can work loose easily. Be sure to adjust the nuts tightly and apply the Loctite to ensure they won't come undone.

And, in case anybody else is working on the chain and wire setup....do not reinstall the wires without crossing them inside the steering binnacle. Otherwise if you steer left the boat will go right. D'ont ask me how I know.

Thanks. Did that. That was initially the culprit, I suspect. Had an autopilot installed and the guy loosened everything but forgot to tighten them afterwards...
