Title: Difficulty shifting D2-55 into neutral
Post by: jeff.sailor on May 30 2012, 15:49
When motoring at slow speed, while docking, it's hard getting the shifter in neutral.  No problems while motoring at normal speeds.  Anyone else notice this behavior and have a fix to suggest?  Boat is a Bavaria 38 Cruiser, vintage 2005.

Do you mean the button on the side, or just getting the telegraph lever vertical?

Try and lubricate control lever assembly and the cable. if that does not work i would disconnect the cable from the saildrive gear box and operate it manually to see if the same happens but my instinct is pointing more to the lever/cable.

Admin, I mean getting the lever into the position where it shifts out of gear and into neutral.

Kaos, thanks, I'll try the lubrication and see how it goes.
