I need to replace charge wire that runs from the alternator to the split diode mounted at the rear of the engine compartment.
Only problem is the boat is in Greece & I forgot to measure the length before i left.
I assume this is a standard length across similar models with the Volvo 2030 engine. If anyone is on their boat at the weekend and could measure the length of the wire it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Jonathan
anyone? (please) :)

Deafening silence lol.
my B42 has a Volvo D2 so is not the same. But...
You could take a longer wire than necessary and have one end fitting attached here in Greece.
I could give you the measurement of mine ?
Off hand I don't know, and cannot confirm the route that wire takes on my B36(2002), but I think it's pretty much direct, with a possible stop off (not sure) at some gizmo in between. If that's the case it can't be much more, if at all, than a metre. So two metres of tinned copper wire I think should be enough to do the job twice.
I had all my battery cables made up in Greece. They did a good job.
I've got a slightly smaller boat (34/2001) but with the 2030. Down on Sunday so will measure it then if you still need the info...?
Thanks Mark, yes please

hi jonrarit
sorry, life intervened yesterday - down there tomorrow instead.
Hi jonrarit, onboard my B36(2002) yesterday the wire is 1060mm in length as near as I can measure it.
Quote from: Salty on July 02 2016, 21:04... the wire is 1060mm ...
How annoying :)
On my B36 2002, the wire is a bit less than a meter included the electric terminals. It has even a small loop because it was too long.
Thanks ZhuHai ... that's perfect

Hi Jonathan
If you still need the info:-
distance from back of alternator to back of diode box @ bulkhead - 440mm
difference in height between top of alternator and bottom of diode box - 170mm
length of cable from alternator to diode box - 790mm
The cable run is not direct which is why it's not a straightforward 440+170.
Hope this helps. Sorry for delay.
