Title: Raymarine C80
Post by: Scorcher IV on November 13 2016, 17:45
Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to connect two C80 displays on the same network and have one as master and the other repeater or do they have to be stand alone installations?

Stand-alone, I believe, although they'll share some basic data.

You can put two on the same network, but they won't share any data other than what's on Seatalk, so no repeater functionality. The Pathfinder series did that (via a separate HSB cable linking the plotters) and the later E series supported it too, but not the C series.

Would I need to fit another gps receiver or would it take that information from the sea talk network?

It can take that from Seatalk and everything else that is on the bus, like wind, depth, compass, etc. They may even be able to exchange waypoints via Seatalk, but don't quote me on that. What they can't do is share anything that requires high bandwidth, like charts or radar, so you'd need chart cards in both of them, which would be expensive and annoying.
