Title: Padlock for cockpit locker
Post by: Fenders on January 31 2017, 19:27
I have tried several padlocks of various sizes and styles but none have fitted neatly and just hung down from the shackle. The one I am currently using sticks out almost horizontally and I have managed to tear my sallopettes on it as I have walked around the binnacle.
Does anybody have any recommendations on type/style/size padlock to use?
Thanks

Fenders

I just use cheap B&Q padlocks, they seem to last OK for several years.

I use RS padlocks with along shank .This allows it to lay against the fibreglass without getting in the way .
I have a Cruiser 33

A standard Plastimo (think they are 10mm) fits perfectly.
