Hi.
Tried to change the light bulb on my compass and I let almost all the liquid out of it by mistake...yes I know what I am !...This is how you make a small problem a big one GRRRR!
What are my options to repair it?
And...how do I change this *&^% light bulb correctly?! Can't see any opening to get to it? only a thin black wire lading inside the compass body.
Many thanks.
I got fed up replacing these bulbs as they only go once you are offshore >:( So I cut off my compass lamp holder and soldered in a 3-lamp red LED adhesive strip instead.
What lamp holder?
Can't see it.maybe a picture?
Attached two photo's of what I have done but I don't have any of the original set-up. I used 2 pieces of 3-LED red strip. The tape holds these in place and is also used as a mask to prevent too much light escaping.
Many thanks dawntreader.Got it.
NOW all I need to solve is how to fill back the lost liquid...
Anyone can advise on that please?

Thanks The Other Woman.
Since the compass as my boat is 9 years old I'll go for a new compass and save me all the hassle.
Not too expensive.
Will consider the expanse as a learning fee for the future...
