Title: Binnacle hatch cover Bavaria Cruiser 32
Post by: westward on July 21 2017, 13:01
Two of the corners have finally broken off the plastic screwed hatch cover on the front of the binnacle of my 2012 Cruiser 32. This was inevitable but is very annoying.

Does anybody know if this part is available anywhere? I've looked at the SVB site bit there doesn't appear to be anything.

That looks repairable.

It's made if plastic and the corners haven't just broken off, they have become tiny fragments. Don't know what type of plastic. Could be PET or PS or maybe even PP. Personally I don't know how to repair it. Any suggestions welcome.

Ok, if it's just plastic you could use it to make a mould and lay up a grp replacement.

Or make an aluminium one and paint it white. I feel somehow, that Bavaria should support their clients. I know it is a lot to ask but car manufacturers manage it and Bavaria is supposed to be a (relatively) mass production company. I bet the current Bavaria 32 (or 33 or 34 or whatever they are calling it now) has exactly the same hatch cover.

No it does not. I checked today on my 33 and the hatch is smaller. Have you asked Clipper Marine if they can order one from Bavaria?
