Title: Fuel polishing part 2
Post by: Odysseus on July 09 2018, 15:44
I made my rig over the winter for £24 off eBay and tried it out for first time last week.
Wow what a surprise.
The amount of brown gunk that came up from the bottom of the tank after moving pipe around , it blocked the primary filter after half an hour of running so modification need a bigger primary filter.
The photos are not good sorry but you can see the gunk.
Any boat in Europe should think of this as the bio fuel is the contamintor.

I ran it for hour and a half, it was not picking up any more gunk.

Hope this helps.

Looks nice. (I mean the setup, not the fuelfilter)

Fuel pump, filter, water filter, hoses... what else? Do you have a parts list? That is something I could install permanently in the boat. I have a spare outlet/inlet in the tank and with a T-branch in the main fuel line I could easily recycle the fuel in the tank.

Is the filters easy to change and in a reasonable price-range?

I did the same some time ago and used a slightly smaller in-line filter. When in rough seas and half-full tank the filter clogged due to the swishing around and caused engine to stall. I was able to get into port and then up-sized my filter  :o :kewl
