Hey everyone - discovered the inline strainer on my pump was clogged. Took it apart and lots of gunk indeed. Cleaned it off and reinstalled it. Then - out of nowhere, the pump starts leaking (not the lines on either side), but the pump! When we try to operate it, the water drips from the bottom of the jabsco pump itself. And it started happening after I cleaned the strainer. Any opinions? Its a jabsco model 37202-2012.
Looks serviceable: https://www.jabscoshop.com/marine/pumps/sink-shower-drain-pumps/37202-2012-self-priming-diaphragm-pump-12-volt-dc.htm
The only drippy bit is the diaphragm itself - strip the pump and have a look, inspect it for cracks and tears. Replace if needed. Good idea to have a service kit onboard.
Thank you! So the diaphragm is a replaceable part? Like a gasket?
Yes, very much so. They are the part that moves when the pump runs and do wear out eventually. It's part of the service kit.
Thanks again!
