Hi All
Has anybody changed the existing from new gas cooker. I would quite like one with a grill and better temperature control of the oven.
Wondered if anyone had found a direct replacement . The existing one has not been very good since new . Now only 4 seasons old.

If you want a grill and oven then height will be a problem as the grill adds around 140mm to the height so the hob will stand well above the worktop. Dimensions are for Dometic cookers which are narrow enough to fit. There is not a direct replacement for the Techimpex already fitted and in my view the best replacement the Neptune (was Plastimo) 2500 is no longer made.
If your old cooker was Techimpex the Dometic moonlight 3 is a direct replacement and has a grill . The only slight change needed is to the gimble mounts . I think that I had to unbend them a bit. The cooker has been in use for I year now and works very well [glass top is easy to clean] Geoff
I´ve changed my techimpex to a Dometic moonlight 2 (B46Cruiser 2006) last season. As mentioned by Symphony we needed to adapt the mounts of the new oven. Works well and my admirality is happy :) Robert
Thank you for our input. Will look at the Dometic.

hi.
I have just changed the cooker this weekend for a Dometic moonlight 2. Jackson leisure supliers have stock at £480 Including next day delivery. it fitted exactly in the same space with no adjustment to gimbals. Gas pipe size is 8mm which is the same as original. but i replaced the compression glands. I had to run a 12 volt supply for the ignitor and oven lamp.
now my roast potatoes get browned from the grill which is very nice. My BOSS even baked some Portuguese biscuits which were lovely.
Now i understand why she has been nagging about the old cooker since i bought the boat.
Happy cooking
regards
Abby
I hope that you can keep your cook (boss!) happy :)
Put some photos up, it's an interesting modification.

Noelio, Can you confirm that your,s is a moonlight 2? From what I gather from the adverts is that only the Moonlight 3 has a grill . Does your galley top close ok like the Techimpex?
My galley top closes like the techimpex, but it needs to set the gimbals down (ca. 3 cm). The new oven has the full moving angle like the old one, and it has a grill. See attached picture (the scrambled eggs didnt come with the oven) :)
Syjetzt Thanks for that, I need to double check my width of the worktop opening, my B32 (2003) should be standard width for all Bavaria's, research so far on the internet has not proven that.
the direct fit model is moonlight 2 it has grill, glass top and electric ignition, the only change needed is to the gimbles [small reduction in width] . the lid closes normally if the outer leaf is reduced by 10mm Geoff
Thanks Geoff, a bit thrown by your earlier post when you quoted moonlight 3. Presumably the grill is within the oven, there only appears to be three controls in the illustrations, two for top, one for oven. When you say reduce outer leaf can you explain "leaf"?
Ps just looked at Dometic site and can only find " sunlight models also sold at force 4 etc"
My cooker cover is in 2 hinged parts, folding out into a worktop. The panclamp support bar on the moonlight 2 just fouled the cover at its folded out position. My solution was a small reduction in one leaf . Geoff

hi. the moonlight is not a current model. the only place i foundthat has old stock is Jackson leisure suppliers still had 7 in stock.
the moonlight 3 has 3 cooker rings
.
we thought 3 rings on the same size platform is really unusable

the gimbals are about 10mm lower then the stainless edge
