Hi gang....
I have D2-55 Volvo with 2014 OE tachometer on Kibo.
The backlight on the tacho has stopped working which is not a major issue, just a bit irritating to have to shine a torch on it when messing with the engine at night.
I was told that I need to replace the whole tachometer and that the backlight is not a fixable item on these. I am loath to do this since the tach is working fine and I'd like to keep my engine hour meter accurate.
Any experience with these? Is there a fix or is it the usual "sealed unit" that occurs far too often these days !?
Thanks
Have you inadvertently dimmed the backlight?
As far as I know there is no mechanism for dimming the back light. It's a stand alone tachometer with no control buttons on it but if I can dim it could you explain how I might have done this please so I can check? Thanks
All other instrument lights are working and their light controls aren't connected to the tach anyway...
Basically it simply stopped working one day (night!) last winter season .....
Don't you have a 4-button control panel? One of the buttons should control the backlighting.
I do have that. Thanks I'll take a look as I didn't know any of those controlled the backlight
