Title: bav 30 cruiser fairlead
Post by: Irmascherkid on September 27 2020, 22:55
Hello fowlks, trust all in good health?
ok this post will be aimed at bav 30 owners who have had the glorious task of refitting the port aft fairlead!
went to check boat tonight and found that the port aft fairlead had been ripped off.. so the burning question is to get to the underside and remove what is left of the screws, is this done by destroying the aft cabin or getting a really small person and jamming them into the smaller space beside the steering quadrant and all the rest of the pipework ect that is behind the cabin?

as always any info is greatly appreciated.

If they're anything like the fairleads on a 38, then they aren't bolts but long wood screws, down into the grp.  You will not find anything below to work on.  To remove the remains of the screws you'll probably need to use a Dremel or similar to grind out the grp so that you can get a grip on the top of the remaining length of screw to remove it.  Make good the grp before replacing the fairlead.
