Hi to all ,
Does anybody has a use for this ? It is said to be instruments lights , but my BV44 2004 - penta d2 55 , has no other instruments except an instrument panel that doesn't lits. I was thinking to use the no7 wiring for a waterproof usb outlet (1-2 amps) near the Volvo panel . Any experience before I start digging inside there ?

I am thinking that it's for the illumination of your instruments?
If your instrument lights aren't working you should check the connections, particularly behind the instruments for contact corrosion. It could also be at the panel or the wiring itself. It's possible all the bulbs are bad, too.
On our boat (B46 2005) this switch operates the background light on the instrument panel itself (for the battery/ water gauge) and for the compass light (at helm station).
Same on our 40 Ocean: Compass light and panel gauges (water/battery).
If it does nothing, check those. Had to replace the dead LED in the compass and there are socketed instrument bulbs in the panel gauges (you can find LED instead of lightbulbs for these from automotive parts dealers or Ali).
The compass light is actually useful when night sailing. ;D
