Title: Cruising chute sheet blocks
Post by: Colorado on May 04 2021, 23:24
I have transferred my cruising chute from my old B44 2003, to the new boat a 2016 B46 cruiser.
Simple question - there's no obvious place to fix/tie the sheet blocks. Any ideas welcome please.

Based on some online pictures of cockpit areas some 46s seem to have cruising chute blocks about half a meter forward from the stern cleats. Is there a folding padeye somewhere there?

If no padeye or suitable reinforcement visible, it seems that the stern cleats are at ideal position to just attach turning blocks with short straps / rope loops. That is what we did on our previous boat.

Hi Tommi. Your suggestion of using the stern cleats sounds sensible and better than drilling into the side decks to fit u-bolts/padeyes. I check it out when next aboard this week. Many thanks.

Stern Cleats with Dyneema loops is the way to go!
