Title: Etch Primer for Aluminium Prop
Post by: Lazy Pelican on November 07 2021, 15:03
Now that I have removed the propeller I intend to strip all the old paint and start again with bare metal.
Can anyone recommend a decent Etch Primer & should I use 2 part?

This one has served me very well (UK based supplier): https://www.militaryvehiclepaint.co.uk/product_details.php?product_id=61711

Don't apply too thickly - with etch primer a thin coat is better.

Thanks- presumably I can overcoat direct with Trilux?

Assume so - never tried Trilux, but Velox Plus worked well.

Trilux (or Ecopower the Hempel equivalent) has its own primer. You may well find your prop still has the original epoxy coating underneath the antifoul. Don't forget to check for any movement around the rubber hub while you have it off.
