On Bavaria 40 Cruiser m. y. 2008 I have two bolts near thr mast base, one on the left and one on the right.
Have you these bolts on your Bavaria?
Wath is their function?
Never seen that on a Bavaria before.
Doesn't look original. Keel grid or bulkhead reinforcements? There's a matching slot through the bottom of the forward bulkhead next to it.
Where does the bolt go to? Did you try sticking a inspection camera into the stringer through a limber hole? Or does it just exit the hull? ;D
not on the boat jet. but maybe on my 37 2006 there are this bolts to. Will have a look if i am back on board in 14 days
I have similar bolts on my 46/2005 vintage, but never checked their function (never touch a running system ::)!!)
We found two bolts that we should replace but we don't understand what they are screwed to and if we can unscrew and screw them back in without creating problems. They are in the vicinity of the mast under the cauldrons.

Those bolts are to hold a Stainless steel reinforcement beam within in the GRP beam . Inside the fibreglass there is a reinforcement to take the load of the mast support at the main bulkhead . I Do not think it is possible or need to replace them. they are there to hold the stainless in place before the inner grid is laminated to the hull. They can get surface rust if wet with salt water. I would try to clean and protect with some paint .
I just wrote the question to Bavaria Deutch service. I will report the answer asap.
Dear Mr.
under the mast foot there is an aluminum plate below deck, which is laminated.
Threads were cut into the aluminum plate for the screw connection. The screws can be unscrewed.
Here is attached a copy of owner´s manual Bavaria 40 Cruiser.
