Title: Red light „POL“ on panel?
Post by: Krumelur on April 03 2022, 06:30
On my 301 panel a red light labeled ,,POL" in the 230V section is on. According to the manual there is no such light. So I'm at a loss. Does anyone know what the light means?
It seems my manual is from a different version of the panel.

The red light on my panel is for the Water Heater (Calorifier).

It shows the polarity of the mains supply.  If the red light is on, it is telling you that the mains supply has reversed polarity, which could fry your charger or other mains equipment.

Seems to be a polarity(warning)light for the mains supply. As there are different standards for wiring the mains between central europe and uk/us i suspect this light is for boats designated for uk/us use. Boats designated for central europe or the med dont have/need such a light. Would suggest to ask this question to bavaria or their representatives in uk/us and ask for a wiring scheme!

As I said above.

I have one on my boat, and is listed in the documentation.

There are several versions of the mains panel.  Some versions, seen on boats in Europe, have a "POL" warning light, as shown in this pic.

Mine is a European and it has this POL light. And I can confirm its about polarity. Although, it should not matter which direction you plug in the connector.
We're now in the next marina and the light is off.
Thanks all!
