Title: Creaking floorboards in the heads
Post by: GeorgeH on October 16 2013, 16:08
I have a new Bavaria 33 and the floorboards in the heads creak when you step on them. I suspect this is the same in some of the other new design Bavarias. Has anyone found a way to silence them?

Try some self-adhesive rubber seal tape for house windows and doors, quick to fit, cost is under £5, waterproof, a 10M length 9mm x 3mm (w x h) cured most of my own floorboard creaks, simply cut to length and stick around the floorboard contact surfaces onto either the floorboards or the floor.

I've got the same problem (now)
We had a rough sail a few days ago, and now the floor in the aft head (owners version) creaks incessantly.

How do I get under it to spray it or glue it or something.

We have a 1998 Ocean 38 and we have the same issue.  I'll be interested to see what you do to fix it.

One solution would be to drill small holes in the tray at points where it bears on the hull, and then inject thickened epoxy to bond the tray to the hull.  Finally, fill the holes with gelcoat.
