Title: Autopilot compass fluxgate location on Bavaria 50 2007
Post by: elias on October 24 2024, 19:41
Hi to all,
Autopilot heading completely disrupted , I am thinking that I might be lucky and something is interfering with the fluxgate, I am currently on a trip and can't start looking where the cables go . Does somebody has any idea for this model where can it be?

Common place for factory fit was in the starboard aft cabin cloths locker.

After a crashing jibe on autopilot due to temporary fluxgate insanity, we found ours tucked up high behind the backrest on starboard settee.  Yes, the same settee upon which we had recently placed the new "stainless steel" yet magnetic cowl vent.  Good luck!

Found it under the port cabin small seat . But it is mounted almost at sea level and just behind it , on the other part of the wooden wall is the presostatic water pump . I believe it can interfere. Don't you think ?

As Symphony2 mentioned, the obvious place where the yard has been placing it since many years after your boat was built, has been the SB aft cabin locker (if you have it). Also on our boat this is where to find it. As far away from any metal that would be usual on a boat.

Found it , I have just now to perform a test to it as raymarine suggests . In a phone call they said that it could be either the fluxagate failed or the central unit.
