Title: Volvo penta d2-50 engine data
Post by: mjt2 on January 26 2025, 04:53
I have a volvo penta d2-50 motor on my 2003 bavaria 38.
I would like a manual that shows where all the ports are for senders for oil temp and pressure, engine temp, and fuel flow.   The 2-page data sheet says the engine is nmea 2k ready, but when we boght the adapter and plugged it in, we didn't get any of that.

Is there a manual that says what we should be able to get via n2k amd what we have to get analog or via can or some other bus?

I really dislike only having rpm and idiot lights/horn.  Want as much engine data as i can get.

Thanks in advance.

I'm using this interface. Afaik this engine needs a gateway and is'nt nmea2000 ready. https://www.svb.de/de/yacht-devices-nmea2000-motoren-interface-ydeg-04n.html (https://www.svb.de/de/yacht-devices-nmea2000-motoren-interface-ydeg-04n.html)
On my Raymarine Axiom i have on the engine display:
-Voltage Starter Battery
-Fuel level
-Water temperature (inner circuit)
-Rpm
-Operating hours
- all other binary signals provided by the MDI like oil-pressure swich, low starter battery voltage,...
