I am having trouble opening these shroud base covers on my Bavaria. I want to inspect and service the shroud base, but I haven't been successful in removing these covers. How can I remove them? I would appreciate any guidance.

It's a destructive process, then you have to buy a new one from SVB and fit it. The covers are glued on with lots of Sikaflex type adhesive. On my 2014 Cruiser 37, I removed one to investigate rust staining draining out of it. Here's what it looks like one you've broken the old cover off.
Thanks for the response. Regarding the 'rust staining draining out of it', what did you find, and what was the problem? Did you have to replace any screws? The same thing is happening on my boat as well.
No idea what the rust staining was, the bolts inside were OK.
It is a matter of good cleaning of the pocket. Flush it with a usual hose and spraygun on it to get some decent pressure. Also make sure the gap at the bottom is sufficiently clear to allow the pocket to clean itself. Staining is coming from gathered muck which degenerates and makes the "rust run". I also consulted this forum last year and with the feedback from Tiger79 I thoroughly rinsed the pockets out which stopped it. A job to do every year, depending on your circumstances...

Yes, I modified the bottom of the new cover before I fitted it, to allow more drainage ability.
