Hi all,
My first post on the re-vived Bavaria forum. Currently I am working on a damaged decal on the hull of our Bavaria Cruiser 41 (2014). I contacted the yard and SVB24 and they could not be of help. I found a company nearby who can make a new set of decals on the sizes and straight picture of the decals (as the front seems not to be a standard font?)
To make it easier, does anyone know the font type of the decals or even better has a (vector) file on it?Bavaria 41 Cruiser decal.jpg
Can you upload a photo here of the decals? (It's really just an excuse to test whether uploads work now  )

I needed to convert the photo to suit the accepted file type, as usually direct from Ios it is .jpeg and this is not accepted.. But the inserting of the picture worked!
Hmm, ChatGPT reckons it's most like https://font.download/font/din-1451-std - however, the C looks wrong to me.
Worth reaching out to Bavaria directly?
It's not even remotely DIN 1451, as usual ChatGPT takes a lot of CPU cycles to produce pure rubbish >:D
Straightening the crooked photo and then feeding it into a proper font identifier gives you this (attached). Seems to be a Dylan, the digits give it away, upstroke on the 1 and the voluminous 4.
The "i" is customized to fit below the line, no font has that built-in.
So that's how you can reproduce the original logo. Although I'd be tempted to make a better one :kewl
Magic! Yes I contacted the yard already and they directed me to SVB24 strangely enough... I Will make a new attempt as they should have them still made for Cruiser34 and Cruiser37..
The company I approach will do the same as Yngmar, many thanks for the efforts! I need to supply a straight picture and measurements and they will make new decals accordingly.
Good luck Happysailor!
I'm with Yngmar though - it sounds like a good excuse to great creative and move away from the stock graphics :kewl
Additional to my initial question, does anyone happen to know the RAL grey which was used on the 2014 cruiser boats? Later on lighter grey and blue were also used, but looking for the darker grey.
(Do have RAL map at home if no one knows the answer...)
Would save me some work!

Seems to be RAL 7043..
Ok, to finalize this topic, I am now providing the solution what I have done.
Besides taking as straight as possible pictures of the logo, I also templated the decal using chalkpaper (used for making of technical drawings before the CAD programs were available). This is quite sturdy and rigid paper, attached it over the logo and with a sharp pencil make the sample in overwriting the decal on this chalk paper. With this also the right dimensions have been captured. Taken it to a graphical studio, which made a vector file. With this file, right dimensioned new decals where made, which I successfully applied during the last maintenance period on shore. Nice project with beautiful result!
