Due to routine wearing of the main Halyard of my 2005 C42, we plan to replace it with a new sheet with right length dimension.
I could not find the mast height from the owner manual (attached). And I found the C42 mast height from https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/c42-bavaria/ and it mentioned 'the Mast Height from DWL:65.94 ft / 20.10 m' (attached), My estimation formula is = mast height x 2 + distance from master base to the piano + 2 meters as cushion. I plan to take some more cushion to use the mast height from DWL as the mast height for the calculation. but I am not sure this is an accurate figure of the Mast Height from DWLfor my 2005 C42 version.
COuld anyone give me the more clues in estimated the new main halyard ?

Pull it out (with a mouse line of course) and measure it. Very accurate method! :)
Thanks
And make sure you get a little extra on top. Our mega expensive dyneema halyard frayed over winter where I had left it shackled down to the neck of the boom so I had to chop a length off it. It is just long enough ;D - one day it will disappear up the mast thought I fear!
