My bav 41 2003 leaks from lose stanchion bases. SS corrodes and produce crevices to screw holes. The forward ones are hemmed in with timber. Any ideas on removal. I take it that the screws have nuts and not simply self tapping.
Hmm, mine leaked from their bases in our forecabin, right into our bunk forecabin bunk! I released the nuts under them and used butyl tape to bed them back down and it worked great. From memory, I don't think I even took them off completely (as we were on a cruise at the time!). They have never leaked since.
