Wonder if anyone has any suggestions on this one ?
Our B37 Cruiser has a Garmin GWS 10 Wind Transducer but the bearings have seized so the anemometer is defunct.
The unit itself is now showing as "discontinued" so we can't replace like for like. Is there any alternative to starting again we wonder ?
Thanks in advance for any ideas
That's very unfortunate and I am saying my little prayers as well my GWS 10 will hold. The signal is fed to the NMEA2000 backbone, very likely in the same place your triducer is connected. You will need to replace the whole windfeature with a Garmin gWind installation I am afraid if you want to keep everything Garmin. Perhaps others can support you with any other device to feed wind information to your network..
Thanks Happy Sailor; was worried it may end up being a complete reinstall :-\

You could consider the wireless version to avoid pulling a new cable. I have the fortune to have a very skilled "mast worker" nearby which prevents me from the need to take the mast down to have it reinstalled..
We have the same problem with our GWS10 and intend to replace it by this one: https://vdo-webshop.nl/en/wind-sensors-new-type/1474-veratron-acqualink-nmea-2000-wind-sensor-a2c59501984-7640178725270.html
Perhaps also an option for you?
