Title: DST800 replacement — location of the NMEA 2000 backbone on a 2013 Bavaria Cruise
Post by: Trivia on July 28 2026, 19:10
Hello everyone,

I need to replace the Airmar DST800 depth, speed, and temperature transducer on my 2013 Bavaria Cruiser 36, and I am trying to locate the boat's NMEA 2000 backbone.

I followed the cable coming from the transducer, but it disappears behind the cabinetry around the navigation table (my boat is the two-cabin version, which has a navigation table where the three-cabin version has a head). I have not been able to work out how to remove or open this section without risking damage to the woodwork.

Has anyone accessed the NMEA 2000 backbone in this area or replaced a DST800 on a similar Bavaria model? Any guidance on where the connection is located and how to access it would be greatly appreciated. Photos would also be very helpful.

Many thanks in advance!
