Title: Bavaria light fixtures
Post by: Deke27 on January 10 2014, 02:53
Hello,

I would like a source for Bavaria salon lights, installed in the 2000 and 2001 42' models, which have a rocker switch on the side, which seems to be the weak point as I have 3 now non operating and nothing to replace them with from chandlers all over.

I could supply pictures. Please let me know.

Remove them and replace the rocker switches.

I put little push-on/push-off switches on mine from RS Components.

They are listed in the Plastimo/Navimo  catalogue ref 471063 p667 (2012 ed) I think  they might  be of Italian origin ("FS Foresti")

I think you may mean the ones on the FAWO Light Fitting 06135T41197 (marked 43.409) with the white tabs that snap off ...

More info at BJB (http://www.bjb.com/index.php?pid=179202&lid=4), but I'm sure I got mine somewhere else ...

In case you mean the other type, the switches like this...

... are Marquardt 1801.1121 (http://www.marquardt-shop.com/products/switches/rocker-switches/1800/1801.1121.html)

Replaced some of mine with switches bought from one of the Maplin shops, cost a couple of pounds or less each and have worked fine for the last three years. The round hole in the side of the light fitting needed to be slightly enlarged to accommodate the new switches, this took just a few minutes each and was done using a round file.

Mine also all broke; they don't like heavy handed treatment and must be switched gently. Replaced all with LED arrays.

A look to the camping outfitters (Campers-Motorhomes) shows lots of stuff identical to yacht items but for significantly lower prices. The ceiling lamps I found at a camping store in Italy, complete lamp with bulb and switch = 16 Euro (ok, some years ago)
