My F-I-L decided to help me change the thermostat on my Waeco  Vd-15 evaporator. He now can't remember the routing for the cooling wire/probe.
It is obvious that it goes across the top of the fins and then down through them on the left hand side of the evaporator but there is still a lot of wire hanging down and we can't see where it should go next.
Has anybody changed theirs successfully ?
TIA

Put a photo up so we can see what you have.
I changed mine last year.

				The VD-15 is here

If it is the same as yours can also remember which two of the three terminals on the back that you used?
Thanks

The photo attached is my plate when I wired a temporary thermostat in so disregard the tube and wiring on the right.
You can see the capillaries tube in place in the fins, the rest of the tube is coiled behind the plastic case and the unit itself replaces the existing unit behind the switch spindle Its a tight fit.
The wiring has the 2 normal red and black for thermostat also a small pair of wires with small connector for the fan mounted in the unit, this pushes cold air down out the bottom of the unit into the fridge. The wire spades on the unit are unidentified with the drawing supplied with thermostat, but you can see the black cable spade as it is the common return so more than one spade is available.
If you google the part number of the thermostat there is lots of information available.
Its a lot quicker to do the job than explanations. I am sure I put a post about this on the forum.

				Absolutely brilliant, thanks so much.
We took the the old thermostat out last year and it's taken until now to get round to fitting the new one. Normally he's a really meticulous guy and he was sure that the capillary tube was routed up and down through the fins for maximum exposure, but we couldn't see how.
So he was wrong, no problem, it's now fitted as per your photo and is working fine.
He's now scratching his head ... 'What was I thinking?' Bless him.
Thanks again.

Where CAN i Buyer a New thermostat? In Sweden does anyone have à part no?

Look up "Clipper Marine" in uk on google thats where I purchased mine, £14   I am sure they would send you one or give you the number. I put a temporary one in by getting one with just 2 wires, it worked fine.
They are a standard device so available all over. The only issue you will have is fitting it in the space allocated.

				Hi
It is better replace original thermostat by using some suitable electronic version...
The original one is bad engineering at all..
