Title: Corfu batteries
Post by: Ziffius on September 06 2014, 13:47
One of my domestic Bosch 12v 140AH  batteries has died. Got a quote from nautilus in Gouvia for varta blue promotive of the same capacity for 295 euros a piece - gulp. Quick check online shows less than £140 in Uk (no overseas deliveries though). Any one know a battery supplier in Corfu, I can't believe I have to pay more than twice uk price but is 295e close to average in Greece?. I'm at sea at the moment or would go downtown myself.

That is the going rate in Corfu for good batteries, I have just had to replace my bank from a chandlery just outside Gouvia, at least he delivered them to the boat. I believe that there is a dedicated battery shop on the way into Corfu town but I do not know the exact location, ask around, you might save a little.

Looking around Corfu on Tuesday to see what I can find but found this Greek Internet supplier to get an idea of prices

Not sure about delivery costs though. Will update on what I find.

Ended up with 130ah agm batteries by dynac from the batterycentercorfu, it has the big varta battery sitting on top of the shop on the main road to town from the marina. 260e each delivered and carried onto boat.
