Any sailmaker worth their salt will have the I and J measurements for your boat. Try another sailmaker.

+1.. if you are having it made, he should also be talking to you about material/colours/cut etc. Purely as a comparison, it would be worth speaking to another loft. Moatt sails are one I have used, small loft with great service - but they are down in Portland!
If you are considering a cruising chute think about a furling chute, so easy to use and furls away really easy, great for anything from 60-180 degrees. I got a furlstrom from Elvstrom, not cheap but an excellent chute for boats light on crew. Jeremy at Elvstrom Hamble is very helpful and well worth talking too which every way you go.
I would go with the sock and the ATN tacker . It costs about $2000 US . There is another chat last year that gave video and dimensions of how to use it.
I have recently acquired a Bavaria 34 2001 that had a cruising chute aboard but I doubt it had ever been used. Can anyone give a good description on how to attach the tack block (there is no hole drilled forward in the anchor plate) so the lights/pulpit cannot be damaged?. I assume sheet blocks can be attached to the pushpit stanchion? Is it strong enough?
