Title: Self steering installation
Post by: Aquila on March 04 2015, 18:20
Has anyone ever fitted a self steering system such as a Hydrovane to a new Bavaria 36 or 37 or any of the new range with the wide bathhing platform on the stern.  Just interested as room is tight with such a large drop down bathing platform.  If anyone has fitted one I would like to know more.  Thanks

I have a Cruiser 37, and there's not a lot of space to bolt a Hydrovane to.

Hi
I have just fitted a new Hydrovane to my Cruiser 33 with the wide bathing platform . Boat goes in the water in a few weeks so won't know how well it works until then.  Hydrovane insists the offset is definitely not a problem.  Found enough space to fit on the port side rear .
I am based on the East coast if you live near.

Regards Tony
