The Cockpit Locker Lid is rather heavy and I would be happy to have the lifting support of a gas strut, as I made for the lifting salon bench in my Bav. 38. Has anyone installed a gas strut to the locker lid? It's not so easy to find the right application point for the strut since it's all curvy and not rectangular.
Would be nice to see some ideas, in any case I will also try myself.
They're standard fit on newer boats. My Cruiser 37 has 150N struts on the cockpit locker lids.

I have the 36 (one before yours) and I bought some struts to fit as SWMBO genuinely struggles sometimes to lift them. I guessed at 150n so thats a bit of luck! How many on each lid? and if poss can you post a pic - thanks :)
Just one on each lid. I'm on the boat at the moment, so I've just taken a pic with my mobile, not great quality but should give an idea.

Best of all, it shouldn't wear out like teak does - that was the reason I sold my last boat. My wife still thinks it's sacrilege not to have real teak!
I am coming back to my original question.
The picture above from the new Bavarias shows that they have a straight and rectangular lid, while my old ship has that curvy lid.
It also includes the back rest and coamings. It's not easy to find the right fixing points for the strut.
Maybe someone already did all that.
