Can someone help please, I want to change my fixed prop for a folding one I am looking to find out the number for the Volvo 3 bladed equivalent prop.

My Bav 38 has a 16x11L number 852017 stamped on it, which goes with my 2030 engine and 120 leg..

I would like to know if the following Volvo is OK

Hub   3583402

Blades 3584247

Anyone out there know??

I am not looking for any other make just Volvo 3 bladed.

Thanks, Odysseus

Was this easy to fit, Odysseus? I'm looking to fit a folding prop to my new-to-me Bav 30, but have reservations  about my DIY skills!

Odysseus

There is some information on the thread "missing prop" put it into the search box.

The things to remember are,

1  use loctite 243 on the threads.

2  use a block of wood from prop blade to the hull so you can get purchase on the bolts.

3  the instructions that are in your Volvo book are good and easy to follow, if replaceing fixed with a folding Volvo prop they again are easy to follow and the new type of Volvo prop are better designed to stop them falling off, as the locking nuts and tags are much better.

Loosing a prop on a 120 leg is not uncommon, mainly because no loctite was used and the bolts were not tightened correctly.

Google Volvo prop fitting procedure.

Hope this helps

Odysseus.

Very helpful, Odysseus. Better stock up on Loctite and pencil this in for the Winter schedule! Thanks for the tips.
