Dear all,

I am reading in several modifications posts, about fridge isolation.
I own a Bavaria 45 and before I had a Bavaria 40.
In those two boats I couldn't find a way to improve isolation.
The owners who did it, can you please share more details on how and what you did.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Matty,
I have a 44. I tried many things, but on mine the issue was not enough insulation around the fridge itself. Even upgrading from the Danfoss BD35 to the larger BD50 and several evaporators, nothing really worked until I added more insulation.
Perhaps this was fixed in the 45's.
Fibreglass and 25mm insulation just didn't do it.
I also found along the way that I was losing some voltage from a poor connection.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Bob

Hi, on my 40 ocean I injected poly foam through 25mm holes drilled in the side panels [behind the cushion and inside the galley drawer unit. The front was reasonably accessible with a long nozzle from below and the rear cavity I filled with poly beads . The result is good  Geoff
