Looking to put a chute onto my 2000 build 34. I have in mast mail.  Anybody any experience of doing this?  Any modifications necessary to stem fitting or the like?

Appreciate any and all advice.

cheers

I use a 'tacker' for my cruising chute on my Bav 37. There are normally only two of us on board so it is reasonable easy to do. If you also pole out you can sail directly downwind. Worked well for me on my Atlantic crossing late last year - only two on board then. For the outboard lines from the stern you can add two blocks close to the rear cleats. Site you want is: http://www.seateach.com/Tacker.htm

Thanks dawntrader...had not thought of that option.  Had a quote for the seldon bow spit and paraphernalia but all became too complicated and getting rather expensive.  The Tacker looks a good cheap and simple solution.  Any issues with the headsail UV cover chafing?

No chafe to my setup. The tacker doesn't move that much and is well designed so don't expect this to be an issue. I used it extensively on my Atlantic crossing last December and not marked sail at all.
